‘RUSTOM’: 3 Mind-Blowing Moments In The Trailer Of Akshay Kumar Starrer
Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Rustom’ has been in news since the time it was announced. Akshay Kumar as Naval officer and film based on Nanavati murder case – these two things were enough for us to be curious about trailer of the movie. The makers had also very well created the buzz by launching some interesting posters.
So, this morning our wait was over as the trailer of the film was launched. The trailer is intriguing and leaves us wanting for more.
Watch the official trailer of RUSTOM here....
Well, the first few seconds of the trailer introduce Akshay’s character and showcase the relationship he shared with his wife. But then the hard-hitting part starts with the sequence when Rustom (Akshay) reads out the love letters written by Vikram (Arjan Bajwa). The trailer becomes quite interesting with this scene.
While Akshay Kumar is the hero of the film, the last scene of the trailer actually leaves us with a question mark if Akshay really is the culprit.

Dear Kashmiri friends (the ones who don’t like India),
I write in this open forum because something terrible is happening in the Kashmir Valley. The recent events at NIT Srinagar only brought the situation to national attention. Some students burst crackers when India lost the T20 semi-final. Many students were beaten for raising the Indian flag. Thereafter, bloody clashes have broken out in north Kashmir.
I understand that there is little pro-India sentiment amongst locals in the Kashmir Valley. Many would rather the Valley be on its own, some wouldn’t even mind being with Pakistan. I will not judge you. Despite being a patriotic Indian, i won’t hold it against you if you hate India. You must and do have your reasons for it.
However, allow me to present another point of view. Allow me to tell you how your future will be best, on a practical basis, if the Kashmir Valley integrates and assimilates with India. This is not an emotional, political or historical argument. It is simply more rational for people in the Kashmir Valley who seek a better future to do it with India.
Sure, the experts will jump on me now. Experts who have made the Kashmir problem their fiefdom. However, if the problem were indeed solved, how will these people stay relevant? Hence, they always attack any solution with their elitist ‘this is too complicated an issue’ stance. They love complicated. It gives them another conference to attend. You suffer with complicated, as the problem never gets solved.
The issue is complicated for sure. For those who don’t know the Kashmir issue, here it is in a nutshell. India became independent. Princely states were assimilated. Jammu & Kashmir didn’t accede. Pakistan attacked Kashmir, took half of it (and still controls it). Kashmir’s ruler called India for help. In return for help J&K became part of India, but with riders.
J&K would have its own constitution, have more political independence than other states, while the Centre would handle defence, foreign affairs and communications. In theory, it was a good solution, a sort of one country, two systems approach. In reality, it never worked.
Instead of two parents as planned, J&K became nobody’s child and an orphan. Pakistan took advantage and used the common factor of Islam to start a militant movement. The Indian army tried to control it. However, it is difficult to control terrorism that co-exists with a civilian population (case in point: even the world’s superpowers appear unable to control Islamic State).
Hence the Indian army, and India, only got a bad name in the Valley. Thus the ‘we hate India’ slogans and perennially unsolved Kashmir problem.
The question is, what is a Kashmiri youth to do now? First, it is important for everyone, not just Kashmiris, to understand the area and people involved. The J&K map we see in Indian textbooks is far from what exists on the ground. Half of what we see in the map is taken over by Pakistan and China. Even though India may claim it, unless we are okay with heavy civilian casualties (which we are not), we will never get it.
Hence, let’s just focus on the half under Indian control, which can be divided into three areas: Ladakh, Jammu and the Valley. Most of the trouble is in the Kashmir Valley. This is only around 7% of the area Indians see on the J&K map and approximates the size of Manipur. In terms of people it is 7 million, roughly the population of Chennai.
The terrain is rugged and the area is completely landlocked. Even if we were to indulge the argument that India is a terrible country and so Kashmir Valley should be on its own, can you really build a sustainable country out of it? It will be a tiny stub in a troubled area, abused by both India and Pakistan. With no real economy and extreme dependence on its giant neighbours, it risks becoming a cesspool of terrorism, drugs and smuggling.
There is also a risk of its being taken over by fundamentalist Islamic forces. It is unlikely anybody from outside would invest money in such a dangerous place. There would be no jobs and no safety. Would you want to live there? Ditto if it joins Pakistan. India is seen as a major emerging market economy. Pakistan is not even seen as a real economy.
Another issue is women’s rights. Half of the Valley’s people are women. Given the hold of fundamentalist Islam, their rights would be curbed under both the independence and Pakistan options. This half of the population would be better off with India. Or do what women want not matter?
If you are Kashmiri and care for Kashmir, the best thing you can do is to integrate with India. Your population size is small, only 7 million. It is not unthinkable to unite them and create a group of people that talks real business with the Indian government. Your local politician won’t talk assimilation, as he or she would rather hold more power than a typical state government in India. However, for you, the youth, the best bet is to make the Valley truly part of India.
The rest of India should not ask for the removal of Article 370. The 7 million people in the Valley should. Kashmiri Pandits who were made to leave the Valley need to be brought back. Terrorism is no solution, nor revenge and retribution for Indian atrocities. Terrorism is only going to harm people in the Valley most.
So, it is youth in the Valley who have to now start a movement to really solve this problem. Get rid of Article 370. It is not empowering Kashmir. It is only empowering your local politicians, who frankly can do nothing for you without Indian integration.
Don’t blame the Indian army. It has the tough job of weeding out terrorists from a civilian population which is almost impossible without collateral damage, terrible as that might be. However, blame those truly responsible, the Pakistani army, the local leaders who exploited the situation and the experts who did nothing for you.
Don’t burst crackers when India loses. Don’t feel good when India fails.
Because if India fails, you will fail too.
Jai Hind. Jai Kashmir.

Alia Bhatt’s Yellow bikini in 'Student Of The Year' or Pink one in 'Shaandaar', which one does she look hotter in?
![]() |
| Alia has sported a bikini in both the films. But which one got you drooling more? Tell us in below the comment section! |
The moment we all had been waiting for was finally here when Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor’s film Shaandaar’s trailer saw its release today. The wait was totally worth it as we were completely blown away by the trailer! It had the right amount of comedy and drama, which made it appealing and simply outstanding. From Shahid and Alia’s smashing fresh pairing to hilarious moments in the trailer, each and every element fit perfectly. One thing however that made our jaws drop was Alia’s SMOKIN’ HOT form in the pink bikini! The actress took our breath away as she casually walked on in her two piece attire, which even made Sasha smile, as seen in the trailer. Be it her well toned body or the way she carried herself, Alia nailed it and we loved it!
The actress launched the trailer of the film along with co-star Shahid today, and confessed that she had worked really hard to get that bod for the bikini scene. Well Alia, your hard work has surely paid off! This isn’t the first time the beauty has sported a bikini though. The actress wore one in her debut film Student Of The Year. That one was bright yellow in colour and Alia wore the two piece with a sarong.
In Shandaar however, the actress is seen flaunting it and how!
In SOTY, the actress was seen stepping out of the water in her bright yellow bikini and her stint floored many. In Shaandaar, the beauty comes across as much more confident than before, as she strolled causally in her pink two piece. We definitely think Alia’s latter form is more ‘shaandaar’ than the former.
What do you think? Yellow or pink, which bikini does Alia look hotter in? Post your views in below comment box!

Is Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Bombay Velvet’ A Flop Already? Twitterati React!
Ranbir, Anushka's 'Bombay Velvet' has just managed to reap in Rs 5.20 cr on day 1, much lower than what was expected.
It’s a mere coincidence that the director who gave Ranbir Kapoor a disaster by the name of ‘Besharam’ in 2013 – Abhinav Kashyap – happens to be Anurag Kashyap’s brother. Anurag has directed Ranbir’s recently released ‘Bombay Velvet’.
The Big-shot movie ‘Bombay Velvet’, who had had hopes pinned on itself of becoming the “Blockbuster of the year”, is looking set to drown, blame it on the content or the hype created around it or so say the reports.
Must read – ‘Bombay Velvet’ review: Ranbir, Anushka shine only occasionally
As soon as it was released, the audiences as well as critics didn’t seem too happy with the official trailer of the movie. It was only after the launch of the first song and few dialogue promos that the movie picked some steam. But by then, the damage had been done.
People were expecting a good opening atleast if not the sustenance. But reports now say that the Anushka – Ranbir starrer has just managed to reap in Rs 5.20 cr on day 1, much lower than what was expected.
Film critic Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to express his disappointment with the collections.
‘Roy’, which released in February and had Ranbir in a “dynamic” role as the credits said, also was a flop. However, it had managed to earn Rs 10 cr on the day of its release.
This certainly raises many a question. Have the audiences lost faith in Ranbir’s star power? The answer better be no, for nothing can take away from the young superstar what he has done in movies like ‘Wake Up Sid’, ‘Rocket Singh’, ‘Rockstar’ and ‘Barfi’ among others.
‘Piku’, starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the lead, despite being released on almost half of the screens (1400 in comparison with ‘Bombay Velvet’s 2600) managed to earn Rs 5.32 cr on day one.
People have been taking to Twitter to mention the dismal collections of ‘Bombay Velvet’ and most particularly of Ranbir Kapoor.
Ram Gopal Varma, who has lately become famous for his foot-in-the-mouth statements, also lambasted the movie.
‘Piku’ continues to do a descent job at the Box Office marching slowly but steadily to big figures.
‘Piku’ and ‘Gabbar is Back’ are, thereby, expected to benefit from ‘Bombay Velvet’s poor show at the Box Office, especially ‘Piku’ which is riding high and steady on the good word of mouth.

Katrina Kaif: Actor Ranbir Kapoor Confirms Relationship With Actress, Announces Plans to Marry.
There was a time, Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif used to hide their relationship from the cameras. And each time they were caught, the two would very confidently deny any (and every) rumour.
Fortunately for us, the couple will not hide anything, anymore! Because it seems like now, the 33-year-old actor has decided to let us in on some personal details (regarding Ms. Kaif, of course). Recently, he spoke to Anandabazar Patrika and told them,
"This year both of us are extremely busy, so there won’t be any time for the marriage. We have planned to tie the knot by the end of next year. Both of us have agreed on that. Both of us are sure about our relationship and if we don’t open about it now, it would be showing disrespect to the relationship. I am 33 now and it is time I have my family. Even Katrina wants that. I have grown up in a family where film is everything. So, I know the importance of gossip and my funda is simple. When there is gossip, try not to react and it is advisable not to think too much about yourself."
That’s quite sensible, right? They make such a cute couple, and since he wants to start a family soon, I can’t help but imagine how adorable their kids are going to be.

Hit and Run Case: Actor Salman Khan gets relief, Bombay High Court suspends sentence
Mumbai: In a huge relief to Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, the Bombay High Court on Friday suspended his 5-year sentence in the 2002 hit-and-run case and granted him bail pending his appeal against conviction.
"He has been on bail for a long time and his liberty was not curtailed. Normally, in such cases, the appeal is admitted and an accused is granted bail," Justice Abhay Thipsay said, while staying his conviction and granting him bail.
The judge directed him to surrender before the trial court and furnish a fresh bail bond of Rs 30,000.
On May 6 granted 48-hour interim bail to the actor, hours after he was convicted and sentenced to five years rigorous imprisonment by the trial court on the ground that he had not been supplied with a detailed order explaining the reasons for his conviction.
The term of interim bail was to expire today.
Deciding the conditions of bail, Judge Thipsay asked if Salman's passport was with him and was told that it was in the possession of the Bandra police and the actor routinely sought its permission before going abroad.
Earlier, the court admitted Khan's plea against conviction and heard arguments of the prosecution and defence.
Defence counsels Amit Desai and Shrikant Shivade said the trial court had failed to appreciate the fact that four witnesseses had maintained there were four persons present in the Toyota Land Cruiser when the accident took place on September 28, 2002, and that it was Salman's driver Ashok Singh who was at the wheel.
One person had died and four others injured in the accident.
The defence's argument that it was Singh who drove the vehicle that ran over five people sleeping on the pavement outside a Bandra bakery had been rejected by the trial court, which had said evidence showed that the actor himself was behind the wheel.
Prosecutor Sandeep Shinde, while seeking denial of bail to the actor, countered its claim, saying it was only just before the conclusion of the trial that Salman Khan had made a statement under section 313 of CrPC in which he claimed it was Singh, who was driving the SUV.
Salman was himself not present in the court during the hearing as it was not required under the law.

An Open Letter to Salman Khan by Ravish Kumar (Journalist)
(Ravish Kumar: TV Anchor, Journalist Pens Open Letter to Salman Khan)
Salman Bhai,
One afternoon in 1989, I stepped out in Patna after watching Maine Pyar Kiya. Aamir Khan's film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak had released the year before. Watching that movie was an impromptu decision as well. In two years, I found two heroes - Aamir Khan and you. Your films became a part of my life. In 1991, when Saajan released, I had moved to Delhi. At that time, you appeared like a novice. You hesitated to speak, but when you were unable to talk, your body spoke with an articulate language. An intense look trumped the inability to speak and would take cinema-goers along. You looked honest, and spoke with calmness.
In 1994, your film Hum Aapke Hain Kaun released and I liked it a lot. It was similar to Maine Pyaar Kiya. Baghban was also from this genre of family-oriented Hindi cinema. But later, I read criticism of Baghban and these other films, and felt they entertain, but don't leave a lasting impact, and we as cinema-goers sometimes naively are so moved by emotion that we lose objectivity. But that ability to connect at such an emotional and immediate level meant you started becoming my hero. After Govinda, if any other actor had a mass following, it was you.
I've seen many of your films. I like the on-screen Salman. He's a little naughty but marches to his own drum, be it Karan Arjun or Andaaz Apna Apna- sometimes a rebel, sometimes a clown, sometimes a rookie, sometimes a con. In Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, when Aishwarya hit you with a lemon, you dramatised the moment as if you had been hit with a stone. It stuck out. Your films didn't make an impact on me, but you always did.
Gradually, I started watching your films to decipher the reasons for the 100-crore business they were doing. To match this success, everyone has started doing average films. When Aamir Khan made Ghajini to match Wanted, I couldn't bear it. When Shah Rukh Khan made Chennai Express and Happy New Year, it seemed like everyone was trying to be "Box Office Hero Salman Khan". By the time Dabangg hit the screens, you had become so popular that a theatre-owner said that people start enquiring about Salman Bhai's movies weeks before their release dates. You are the No 1 hero of the front stalls. You are the hero who reaches the mind through the heart.
Salman Bhai, today you have been convicted. We are punished for every big and small mistake that we make. Sometimes from within, sometimes from outside. I want the iconic actor Salman to make amends like a true hero. Spare a thought for the family and the person who was crushed under your expensive car. Punishment is not what the court gives. The court does so to maintain law and order in society. The real punishment is what one goes through himself.
That's why, Salman Bhai, from today onwards, count the moments that you have missed. Everyone has to count these. I know that in real life, you are a true friend and help those in need. But sometimes, a mistake renders everything else meaningless. If you want, you can prevent your good deeds from losing meaning. I am upset that my hero is going to jail. I also feel sad for the person because of whom you are going to jail. There is another way to repent. Distance yourself from those who promised to prove you innocent.
You have the option to appeal in a higher court, and you must make use of it, but do it only if you think you are innocent. Arguments in court don't mitigate your mistake. Listen to your inner voice. If you come back with an honest heart, you'll find me waiting for the new Salman at the ticket counter, just as I stood in queue in 1989.

Salman Khan found guilty in hit-and-run case, Convicted upto 10 years Jail.
Bollywood star Salman Khan, known for his bulging biceps and off-camera temper tantrums, faces jail this week if convicted of drunkenly driving over sleeping homeless men 12 years ago, killing one of them.
Khan, star of blockbusters Bodyguard and Dabangg, is accused of losing control of his SUV after a night of drinking rum and cocktails at an upmarket bar in Mumbai in 2002 and fleeing the scene.
After years of court hearings and legal hold-ups, a judge in Mumbai is on Wednesday finally expected to hand down his verdict on the 49-year-old actor on charges of culpable homicide.
Khan faces up to 10 years in prison if found guilty following a trial whose every twist has been followed by the country's media.
Public prosecutor Pradeep Gharat said he had presented the case as best he could to the Bombay sessions court judge, adding "we can only hope but cannot predict" a conviction.
"I am 100% confident that I have done my job and duty to the best of my ability," Gharat said on Monday.
Khan pleaded not guilty at trial, saying his driver was responsible for the late night crash in which his Toyota Land Cruiser mounted the pavement where five men were sleeping outside a bakery in the upmarket suburb of Bandra West.
A constable attached to Khan's security detail said in his statement to police that the drunk actor lost control of the car while driving at about 90 kilometres an hour.
"The people were sleeping on the footpath. Salman and (his cousin) Kamaal ran away from the spot," the constable, who died in 2007 of tuberculosis, said.
One of the sleeping labourers injured in the accident said in his statement that "Salman was so drunk he fell. He stood but he fell again and then he... ran away."
But Khan's lawyers said the action and romantic comedy star had in fact been drinking water all evening and had climbed out of the driver's seat after the accident because the passenger side door had been damaged.
They also said the homeless man was killed during an operation to move the car, rather than the crash itself, when the bumper fell off and landed on him.
Finally, last month, his driver took the stand and said he crashed after the front left tyre burst, making steering and braking difficult.

Here’s what happens next:
If Salman Khan is convicted for less than three years, he can approach the Sessions court for bail. If he is convicted more than three years, he has to approach the Bombay HC.
The biggest huddle, HC goes on vacation next week. So the defence has an herculean task to file the application and get it on board for hearing. Salman Khan can apply to the Holiday bench but its upon the bench to take it up or not.
HERE ARE THE LIVE UPDATES ON SALMAN KHAN HIT-AND-RUN CASE VERDICT:
11.57 am: Judge asks Salman Khan, “What do you have to say? Maximum sentence of 10 years?” Salman Khan says, “You are the judge; whatever you say is correct.”
M N Singh, the police commissioner says, “This was an open and shut case. There was never a doubt in my mind that he was driving the vehicle. We had enough evidence against him.”
11.54 am: Defence while arguing for a lesser sentence says Salman Khan is ready to pay compensation.

Happy Birthday Anushka Sharma: The year of Virat Kohli...
Anushka Sharma: came from nowhere to achieve instant Bollywood Super-stardom. When she was signed on as the lead of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan, the question in everyone's mind was: who is this Bangalore model?
It was answered soon enough when birthday girl Anushka made a successful debut and then went on to deliver one hit after another. However, it was her real-life jodi with Indian cricket team's vice-captain Virat Kohli which was on people's minds this past year even as she delivered superb performances in hits like PK and NH 10.
Theirs has been a love story which has been feted and reviled in equal parts. Every time Virat's performance tanks, it is blamed on Anushka. No, don't go looking for logic here for that's not how fans of Indian cricket work.
Only, Anushka has handled this love-hate relationship with maturity and an innate poise, and, if anything, has emerged stronger from it. Like it or hate it, Anushka and Virat's was the love story which was on our mind last year. And isn't it a match made in heaven: cricket royalty meets Bollywood queen in-waiting?
Once she confirmed the relationship in an interview, she has said little about it in any public fora. Virat, on the other hand, has been quick to take umbrage when someone belittles his ladylove.
In November last year, after he and Anushka took a lot of heat over his bad form, Virat celebrated his 32nd half century by blowing a kiss to Anushka who was watching from the stands.
After months of a diplomatic silence on her relationship status, interspersed by some stout denials to Karan Johar on Koffee with Karan, Anushka finally capitulated. In an interview, she said, "I am in a relationship with him (Virat) and I have respect for my relationship. The only reason I don't talk about it is because we don't know where to draw the boundary. If someone comes out in the open and tells you that yes I am in a relationship and if you are going to constantly just keep asking questions, it's like my personal space isn't being respected."
That did not stop the duo from being seen out in public, or media from clicking them. Living under the spotlight all the time must have affected the couple because Virat launched an expletive-leaden attack on an HT journalist while the World Cup was going on, mistaking him for a mediaperson who had written an article about him and Anushka.
The real test of their relationship was yet to come: India's 95-run defeat during the World Cup semi-final was pinned on an unlikely target - Anushka. She was trolled and called derogatory names.
But if internet bullies thought that it will bog the star couple down, they were mistaken. The two returned to India, hand-in-hand and made their stance very clear. As Bollywood came out in Anushka's support, Virat told his fans and detractors to take it down a notch.
"My relationship with Anushka has only become stronger because of that incident. We have gone through this together. If someone is saying bad things about my partner, obviously I will get angry because that's a very personal thing to me," said the cricketer in an interview.
Proving once again how strong their bond is, he added, "When she was there clapping for me when I got a 100, I felt very happy and relieved. It was there for people to see what Anushka's presence can do to me… I thought with me performing and she clapping in Australia, we had made a joint statement."
And that you did. Take that, bullies for this past year belonged to them. And on Anushka's birthday today, we hope that we see more of this couple in the years to come.

Deepika Padukone - "My Choice" Reviewed by Kamaal R Khan.
A lot has been said about the Vogue Empower video starring Deepika. It was too pretty. It talked only about the problems of the modern elite woman (as if it's a crime for the modern woman to voice her problems?). There are more pressing issues at hand. One word that was picked and much trolled was "MyChoice".
In the sea of parodies and responses to it, the one response that stands out is by none other than the loudmouth of the film industry, KRK. He tweeted this:
Kamaal R Khan-KRK (Tweet):
Good morning n kick on your ass. Today I am going to have sex with 16 years old maid coz it's my choice n her choice so don't mind Pls.
Firstly, Watch the below Video of KRK:
Now we don't even want to give him space here, but inadvertently the man proves something that should have been obvious to us. While it is perfectly all right to rip it apart logically, it is quite disheartening to see the lashout assume the tone of slapstick and slut-shaming. The average Indian internet user loves to oppose anything and assert his rights, if only for the sake of venting out some self-righteous anger in the universe.
1. Being a men's magazine, we advocate the video because we realize history has been unfair to women, and the choices that are relatively easy for men are not so for women. The message of the video, even if laced with branded ideas of beauty, just tries to bring out the fact that women have NOT been making those choices, because they suffer harsher consequences borne out of those very choices.
2. Yes, there are more pressing issues like poverty and Dalit rape. And that doesn't mean the more "trivial" (as pointed out by many) issues concerning the working modern woman can be given a miss. There are a hundred subtle and oft-ignored dualities that lie in our convent-educated sexist mindsets. It is not easy to sympathise with the independent woman or see her as a victim. But guess what, she has problems too?
3. Yes, the video is glamourous and is not the best way to propagate women empowerment, but does that mean it has no message? Vogue is a brand, and has the right to propagate its image. Does it even deserve the crazy backlash whipped by cynics crying foul?
4. Yes, the "sex outside of marriage" claim is controversial. Infidelity is unethical, period. But is that reason enough to dismiss the entire video?
5. And for those who are pointing fingers at the actress, claiming she has no right to talk about women empowerment since she too adds her two penny to keep up the 'women as sex objects' wave alive, we'd say get over it. It's a capitalist world; she has a profession that feeds on the baser sentiments; she is an actor; she is a woman. She lives in a sexist world, but not without an awareness of it. Is she not even entitled to talk about the world she has succumbed to?

7 Biggest Mistakes Of Kareena Kapoor's Career.
She has raked in crores, but she could have made so many MORE!
By her own admission, she has turned down the maximum number of scripts in the industry.
Here are the 7 Most SHOCKING Mistakes of Kareena’s Bollywood Career:
1. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai
Several days into the shoot of the movie, Kareena decided that Hrithik Roshan was taking centre stage in the project and decided to cut her losses and walk away.
2. Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam
What do you do when you have Sanjay Leela Bhansali standing at your doorstep with an award-winning script in tow? If you’re the average Bollywood struggler, you jump at the offer. If you happen to be Kareena though, you turn him down.

Kareena’s loss was Preity’s gain. Howzat for generosity of spirit?
4. Fashion
She may have tried to compensate for it to Madhur Bhandarkar with Heroine, but karma doesn’t appear to have forgotten Kareena’s high-handed rejection of Fashion quite just yet.

6. Shuddhi
Karan Johar’s magnum opus hit one roadblock after the other, with first Kareena and then Hrithik opting to back out of his ambitious project.
